Nio Marsh (1895–1982) was the brightest star of the “golden age” of English detective fiction, author of 32 novels and many plays. Her name ranks with such recognized classics of the genre as Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers. For her literary achievements, she was awarded the title of Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire. The bored owner of the estate, Jonathan Royal, and his friend, the writer Mandrake, decided to gather in the house a group of people who hated each other. Royal wanted to have fun, but the situation got out of control. One of the guests made an attempt on Mandrake's life...Who planned the murder? Everyone has an ironclad alibi.
