Mikko Rimminen (b. 1975) is one of the most talented contemporary Finnish prose writers. In 2010, his novel “With a Nose” was awarded the most prestigious literary prize in Finland. The book begins with the main character mistakenly ringing the doorbell of an unfamiliar apartment - and, in order to get out of an awkward situation, she pretends to be a researcher conducting a sociological survey. So in the head of this woman - an eccentric, timid, sincere, funny, and sometimes naive - the idea is born of how she can overcome the loneliness that permeates her life... But the search for human warmth turns into trouble for her and leads to a series of tragicomic situations. In Russian language, the novel is being published for the first time. The novel was awarded the Finlandia Prize, the most prestigious literary award in the country. Rimminen created a magnificent novel that allows you to believe in a person again. The most seemingly ordinary people he portrays show us how heroically simple human friendship is capable of fighting loneliness and fear. “Helsingin Sanomat”
