Головний герой, Віталій, здається ідеальним сім'янином, але його таємниці та темне минуле поступово виходять на поверхню, викриваючи справжнє обличчя людини. Взаємини між персонажами, зокрема між Віталієм та Каріною, вражають своєю складністю та емоційністю. Книга порушує важливі питання про мораль, владу та наслідки власних вчинків.
