The idea of the Earth as a large spaceship, expressed by Fuller, involves the careful and efficient use of its resources based on specific concepts and technologies. At the same time, Fuller argues that with rational use of resources there will be enough for everyone. However, such an idea inevitably leads to the idea of a unified management of the Earth, or a “single government,” which looks not only not humanistic and not beneficial, but sometimes even completely odious. Moreover, such unity of management is perceived by many as the only possible one in conditions of an increasingly clearly defined resource shortage. But it’s unlikely that the majority of those who are interested in such unity of control understand anything about the structure of this ship. The situation is reminiscent of the well-known fable about the monkey and the glasses: being strung on the tail, they do not make it a nose.
