The book by the famous Arkhangelsk historian V.N. Bulatov, for the first time in the "ZhZL" series, tells about the most famous Russian admiral of the 20th century - Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov.

He commanded cruisers, was the main naval adviser in Spain , organizing supplies for the army of the republic and rescuing Spanish orphans. Commanded the Pacific Fleet. At the age of 36, by the will of Stalin, he headed the country's navy, drained of blood by repression, becoming the first Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union.

Kuznetsov managed to prepare the fleet for the German attack: on June 22, 1941, only the sailors met the enemy fully armed and with minimal losses. Having brilliantly led the fleet during the war, he experienced disgrace in 1948 and new disgrace and demotion under N.S. Khrushchev and G.K. Zhukov... The admiral did not break, although his talent was far from being fully in demand.

Only today, on the basis of enormous documentary material, can we offer the reader a book-reflection on the fate of an outstanding Russian naval commander.
