A young engineer Igor dreams of creating a perpetual motion machine. Successfully coping with his work, he stays up late, to the surprise of his colleagues. Anatoly, one of them, learns in a frank conversation that Igor is busy creating an engine for uninterrupted operation. At first, Anatoly tries to dissuade the young man from wasting his time, but then he begins to support him. Igor succeeds in what his other like-minded people failed to do. He creates this engine. His project is supported by the government. Igor is glad that he got what he was striving for. But Igor does not stop there. New ideas are born in his head. Seeing everything that is happening, Anatoly also changes, who not only supports Igor, but also implements his own projects. The good that Igor did, helping poor and sick people, returns to him multiplied. He is saved from death, he is supported by a friend, he meets his love.
