Everyone who surrounded Phoebe Ferris had their own truth. Her mother Meg, a former rock star, professionally avoided questions and told only how it all ended: about a quiet life after fame, well known to Phoebe. Her sister Luna, a Brooklyn-based indie rock fan, promoted her hard truths about her personal development, selectively omitting facts that did not suit the girl. And Phoebe's father, Kieren, co-founder of her mother's favorite band, hasn't said anything at all since he stopped calling three years ago. But Phoebe, an aspiring poet in search of her own identity, was tired of half-truths and vague explanations. Visiting Luna in New York, the girl was going to find out how she fit into this family of inventors and maybe even compose her own fairy tale about the musician, which she had been writing in secret for several months. Told in alternating chapters, Phoebe's first adventure blossomed as Meg and Kieren's love story came to a close, leaving behind only a frayed gem of truth about her family's past and giving Phoebe the opportunity to leap into her own unknown future. p>
