Reader, due to certain conventions, I could not reveal the true names of the characters in this book. Many of them are known both in Russia and in the West. People with an inner core, no matter what corner of the planet fate throws them to, try to remain human because they have faith, hope and love. The events described in this book are not at all fictional, but written off from life. We see people who, for various reasons and circumstances, end up in exile or live in the USSR: someone is happy, rich and famous, and someone makes a deal with conscience. Emigration is a difficult remedy for every person. Is freedom of choice necessary, and what does it consist of? Isn't it easier to live in a traditional way? Famous artists, actors, Leningrad of the 60s, “Russian” Paris, Italy, Switzerland... A chain of events leads some of the book’s heroes to repentance and even to the temple, while others not only turn into disgusting creatures, but also commit crimes. Like us You, the heroes of this book are surrounded by a world of temptations, in which there is too much materiality and very little sublime. Eternal values are being eroded, people appear before us without historical memory, devoid of will and faith. Years pass, some realize what they have done, but belated repentance cannot bring back ruined lives...
