This book is a logical continuation and addition to Ilion. Both Hisarlik and the rest of the Troad were systematically and carefully excavated by Schliemann. He scrupulously studied every ancient settlement of Troas and the place where Troy itself stood. The results to some extent served as an addition and correction to the conclusions he came to in Ilion, and are of the highest value for science. The publication is beautifully illustrated and equipped with maps and excavation plans, the appendix includes articles on Troy by famous scientists R. Virchow, K. Blind and D.P. Mahaffy. The book is published in Russian for the first time.
