Desmond Lewis, a professor at the University of London, finds unique material that casts a shadow on the authenticity of the name of the author of Hamlet and King Lear. Jake Fleming, an American journalist with the help of whom Lewis is going to publicize sensational documents, discovers the professor's office and apartment destroyed.
