The book by Moscow Technical School professor Pyotr Kondratyevich Khudyakov was written a year and a half after the Tsushima tragedy, when the pain caused by the news of the death of thousands of Russian sailors had not yet subsided; bitterness from the defeat of the Russian fleet, which has no analogues in our history. Khudyakov collected in this book unique testimonies from participants in the preparation and campaign of the Baltic-Tsushima squadron. Evidence of criminal irresponsibility and incompetence, theft and corruption of officials of the War Ministry and the entire bureaucratic system. Admirals who did not know how to control ships filled with the latest technical means; governors who cared only about their own pockets; politicians who saw everything but were silent; people - who prepared the Tsushima tragedy, but, as is customary in Russia, did not suffer any punishment for their crimes. The book is dedicated to the memory of the fleet mechanical engineers - graduates of the Imperial Moscow Technical School who died in the Battle of Tsushima.
