This book is the result of a rethinking and revaluation of the prevailing ideas in our culture about spirituality and spiritual development. The first volume sets forth a new worldview of our time, radically different from both the materialistic and the religious. The author defines it as a worldview of non-religious spirituality or as a Path without illusions. The theme of evolving consciousness runs through the entire book as a red thread. Spiritual development is seen as the development of consciousness. The main method of this development is meditative practice, and the main mechanism is transcending duality. The book pays special attention to the problem of duality. For the first time, a classification and detailed description of the various types of duality is given. It also talks about the ideological crisis of our time and its main reason - the fundamental inferiority of the generally accepted way of cognition. A new cognitive paradigm is proposed, based on completely different, sharply different from generally accepted, epistemological principles.
