In the next issue of the collection “Ancient Sources on the History of Eastern Europe,” monuments of Roman cartography are published, originating from the world map of Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa (1st century BC, only its descriptions have survived), which continued in the map of the Black Sea from Dura Europos (mid-3rd century AD) and culminating in the monumental “Pevtinger map” of the world (last centuries of Roman history). The book also contains some literary works that are descriptions of maps (“Division of the circle of lands”, “Measurement of provinces” ", "Cosmography" by Julia Honorius, "Cosmography" by Anonymous of Ravenna and some others). The book contains reproductions of maps, their descriptions, map legends and texts of literary works, their Russian translation, as well as a detailed historical and philological commentary on literary texts and map legends, analyzing their source significance for the history of Eastern Europe.
