The story of Sirush and Simbad tells about the events taking place in a small town in Armenia in the 60-80s of the 20th century on the eve of the Spitak earthquake. Taking as a basis the fate of a young girl married according to custom, and not out of love, the author introduces us not only to Armenian life, traditions and family structure, but also reveals the theme of moral humiliation in the family. The love story of the story closely intersects with the theme of a split in the system, which few people managed to defeat. But every victory has its own price.
