The author of the book, Gunther Just, believes that Alfred Jodl, an honest soldier and a true patriot of his homeland, was unjustly executed. Yust insists on the need to review some aspects of the process. After all, the parties that won the war suffered huge losses, and at that time there was no time for objectivity in the assessments and decisions of people who had lost loved ones, home, and homeland. However, each point of view has its supporters and opponents, so the book is supplemented by an appendix of three parts, each of which sets out certain beliefs. The reader is invited to draw his own conclusions and conclusions on the basis of authentic archival documents, letters, reports and evidence.
