An ambitious scientist involved his friend in a seemingly completely harmless experiment to scan the skull of Tsar Nicholas II’s brother, Mikhail, who was killed back in 1918. But the experiment did not go as planned, and the essences of our contemporaries ended up in the bodies of Grand Duke Mikhail and his secretary. And times are difficult - the First World War is underway and, as the heroes know, cataclysms caused by two revolutions will soon begin. They also know that the Bolsheviks who came to power in 1917 liquidated not only the family of Nicholas II, but also Mikhail and his secretary.
