Автор майстерно передає атмосферу того часу, показуючи, як діти, незважаючи на всі труднощі, знаходять радість у простих речах. Їхні витівки, хуліганства та спроби зрозуміти світ навколо викликають усмішку, а іноді й сльози, адже за веселими моментами ховається глибока мудрість і роздуми про життя. Книга сповнена тепла, ностальгії та щирих емоцій, які залишаються з тобою навіть після прочитання.
