A team of runners, roller skaters and motorcyclists must catch a ball fired with great acceleration from a special cannon onto a special track. The ball flies so fast that it often injures athletes, and players hit each other with their fists, kicks, bats, and crush each other with motorcycles. Death is as common here as in combat. Jonathan Y is the strongest player on the Houston team, a roller runner. Years of gaming have made him indifferent to killing, but remnants of humanity still live in him.
