The appearance of books by A.V. on the book market. Pyltsyn about the real 8th penal battalion with specific historical dates, personalities and true events, at one time aroused the interest of our television media. Since 2005, film crews from more than 15 video sites and TV channels have interviewed a man who served his part of the war in a penal battalion in command positions. Many of them, for example, the TV channels “Ostankino”, “Culture”, MNTK “MIR” and others, based on interviews with him, made good documentaries about this penal battalion. Some video interviews on some TV channels were “cropped”, fragments were removed from them , contradicting the point of view of the leaders of these television media. Individual video interviews that have not been “processed” by television channels are offered to readers in a textual version in this collection.
