Fifty-year-old Tumanov receives a strange message from his friend, journalist Nikolnikov. He insists on meeting in some uncrowded place. Arriving there, Tumanov finds his comrade killed. Those for whom the journalist was digging removed him, at the same time deciding to frame Vadim Petrovich. Now he is accused of murder, with a full set of evidence and motive. Tumanov Jr. begins his own investigation to get his father out and prevent him from rotting in prison. Andrey turns to Tumanov’s old friend, prosecutor Sobolev.
