For those who are not up to date, I will briefly explain: “Evil for Evil” is the third novel in the series about the adventures of the wizard Tobius, and two years ago its final version did not go to print. I was kindly provided with a review of Evil for Evil, in which an unnamed editor expressed doubts about the artistic validity of the work. He gave a lot of arguments, some of which I still can’t agree with, most were not critical, but I still couldn’t ignore a few of the main ones. "Evil for Evil" was considered a somewhat darker and, let's say, morbidly cruel work than what the publisher would risk putting on the shelves. Some weak points in the plot and stylistic flaws were pointed out. Having been largely revised, the novel was published in 2017, as mentioned earlier. "Dragon Slayer" was released more complete in terms of plot, it has a completely different ending, slightly changed language and a lighter atmosphere. However, some readers were interested in the fate of the original version, which I was kindly allowed to publish today. The novel is published exactly in the form in which it would have gone to print in 2016 if it had been approved. I wish those who dared a pleasant reading.
