Lina Kostenko (1930) is an outstanding Ukrainian writer, winner of many prizes and awards, a representative of the “sixties” generation. Despite all the difficulties and prohibitions, her works found their way to the reader, settled in his heart forever and became classics of Ukrainian literature. Despite the fact that Lina Kostenko’s poetry and prose have been translated into many languages and are known far beyond the borders of Ukraine, little is known about the writer herself, because she prefers a more secluded lifestyle. This book is an attempt to better understand the life of a poet - a child, a student, a wife and mother, a citizen and patriot of his country, just a Person with his own thoughts, worries, joy and pain. This is an attempt to comprehend her path in order to better understand the deep essence of the masterpieces created by Lina Kostenko.
