13 years before the events taking place in the Labyrinth, streams of solar radiation fell on the Earth, destroying all life in its path... Irreversible climate changes have led to sharp warming. The few survivors of the disaster huddle in tents and miserable makeshift dwellings, hiding in the forests and mountains. To top off all the troubles that befell people, the government decides to reduce the population of America by releasing a deadly, not fully understood virus. Young Mark and Trina, together with their companions - a retired pilot and a former military nurse - make their way through the scorched lands North Carolina in search of a cure for the terrible infection that is steadily spreading across the planet.
