Programming of non-standard user interfaces in the Delphi environment using Microsoft Agent and Microsoft Speech API technologies for Windows 98/2000/XP operating systems is considered. Presents ways to implement animated characters into Delphi applications and use speech synthesis and recognition methods using Speech API functions. High and low level speech interfaces are discussed in detail. The process of creating your own animated characters and using a non-standard text balloon Balloon Dialog is described.
