IV century BC. Egypt is conquered by the Persians. The last ruler of the country, Nectanebo, is defeated in a battle with Darius and dies. His daughter, Princess Meriamon, endowed with the gift of divination and healing, sets off on a dangerous journey to the court of Alexander the Great in order to force him by any means to turn his troops against Egypt. Together with the mysterious Egyptian woman, the reader is immersed in a complex tangle of intrigues, in which the great commander’s confidants—the famous hetaera Thais of Athens and the handsome bodyguard Niko—participate.
