The famous Russian poetess, prose writer, critic, publicist and memoirist Zinaida Nikolaevna Gippius was born in 1869 in the city of Belev, Tula province and died in 1945 in Paris. Her marriage to Dmitry Merezhkovsky lasted 52 years, during which they never parted for one day (that’s why their correspondence does not exist). From 1893 to 1940, she kept diaries, which are not only wonderful monuments of literature, but also unique and merciless evidence of the events and life of that time. This book publishes: “Diary of Love Stories” (1893–1904), “Blue Book” (1914–1917), “Black Notebooks” (1917–1919), “Black Book” (1919), “Grey Notebook” (1919 ), "Warsaw Diary" (1920–1921) and "The Brown Notebook" (1921–1925). They contain the entire path that Zinaida Gippius went through - from careless youth to emigration to Paris, through Warsaw, in 1920, and the realization that, most likely, this is forever.
