Thalassa is the only hope of humanity, the Light Bearer of prophecy, the only one who has the power to revive the dying sun. She, along with three other refugees from the doomed city of Thrall - Urtred, priest of Re; Jaial, Knight of Thrall; and Alanda, descendant of the Great Witches of the North, must find their way to Lorne, a mythical kingdom hidden by magic, in order to find the Bronze Warrior who will help them defeat the Darkness. Their search takes them to the unknown lands of the North, where countless trials and tribulations await them, and then they must fight their most dangerous enemies: dark creatures known as the Midnight Woe. They have very little time, since a vampire, one of the Living Dead, has bitten Thalassa, and if they do not find Lorne in time, the last hope of humanity will go out...
