Sweden is gripped by a wave of suicides: in different parts of the country, teenagers are taking their own lives in the most terrible ways. The common denominator in these cases is old cassette players with recordings of music that makes even the police uneasy and the author of which is a certain Hunger. Soon Jens Hurtig, leading the investigation, realizes that the suicides are unclearly connected with a series of murders of influential people. And this connection is much more terrible than one could imagine. Music, painting, suppressed desires and stifled hatred, childhood mental trauma, revenge, God and the absence of God, an unquenchable thirst to live and die - all this is woven into a tangle, which the heroes of the novel are trying to unravel, each in their own way. “Glass Bodies” is the first a book from the planned trilogy “Melancholia”.
