The author of this book, Andrei Bolotov, is a Russian writer and encyclopedist, one of the founders of Russian agronomic science. His autobiographical notes contain materials about the Russian army, the life of nobles and landowners. He was an eyewitness to the palace coup of 1762, when Catherine II came to power. The author talks in detail about the peasant war of 1773–1775, describes the execution of E.I. Pugachev. The book contains significant historical material. 1738–1759
