The book contains an iconological method of examining the world around us. The method is based on patristic theology, which perceives the world as an icon of God, the properties, quality of the world as a reflection of the divine properties of the Hypostases of the Holy Trinity. An iconological view of the world makes it possible to understand the diversity and variety of the created world, to understand the difference, interaction and spiritual quality of the realities that fill it: individuals, cultural phenomena, and to answer numerous questions of history and modernity. This approach brings us closer to “whole knowledge”, towards which Russian religious and philosophical thought has been directed until our time. “Integral knowledge,” as the Slavophiles also called it, is a combination of Divine revelation and religious, philosophical, scientific and social thought, that is, the harmonious unity of the Orthodox faith and the entire experience of human culture.
