We present to the reader's attention a two-volume collection of prose by Vladimir Bogomolov (1926-2003) (Vol. I - “The Moment of Truth”, Vol. II - “The Pain of My Heart”) - the most complete collection of works by the outstanding Russian writer. The second volume, “The Pain of My Heart,” includes famous war stories and stories by V.O. Bogomolov: “Ivan”, “Zosya”, “First Love”, etc., documents from his personal and creative archive, as well as chapters from the yet unpublished novel “My Life, Or Did I Dream About You...”, which, without doubts will be recognized as one of the peaks of the writer’s creativity. Together with the heroes of the novel, we experience the victorious spring of 1945 in Germany (the author, as in “The Moment of Truth,” masterfully imitates authentic documents of the era), we are transported to the Far East (the war with Japan) and to Chukotka - the confrontation with America begins. The young senior lieutenant Fedotov, whose fate unites several books of the novel, is a direct continuation of the readers’ favorite heroes “Moment of Truth” and “Zosya.”
