Capablanca does not have a book titled “Self-Portrait of a Genius.” And yet, all of it - from beginning to end - was written by him! This two-volume book is truly unique. For the first time, it contains all the games of the third world champion with his own comments, which have undergone computer testing “according to Kasparov,” as well as memoirs, interviews, articles, reviews and notes by Capablanca, mostly translated into Russian, also for the first time (like the magnificent essay by O. Chagodaeva “The Young Years of Capablanca”). In fact, this is “My chess career”, only covering the entire creative path of the great Cuban! Thus, here is both an excellent chess textbook and a one-of-a-kind autobiography of Capablanca. The second volume covers the period from 1922 to 1939, including the world championship match with Alekhine, as well as tournaments in London, New York, Moscow and Nottingham.
Under the general editorship of Sergei Voronkov. Special edition by Oleg Stetsko. Artist Evgeny Permyakov.
