Greek literature of the late 19th century is represented by outstanding prose writers, whose short stories and stories were translated into many European languages and are quite well known to the European reader. The experience of translating the works of Emmanuel Roidis, George Viziinos, Ioan Kondylakis, Argyris Eftaliotis into French, English and German dates back a whole century; many works have been translated more than once, therefore they have their own rich translation tradition. The works presented in the series have been translated into Russian from the Greek originals for the first time and give the Russian reader a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the remarkable names of modern Greek literature of the late 19th century.
