Alfred Elton Van Vogt (1912–2000) belongs to the older generation of American science fiction writers. More than fifty novels came from his pen. In many of them, he tried to predict what awaits humanity in thousands of years. His predictions seem unusually convincing. Van Vogt was well versed in the achievements of science of his time - history, archeology, biology, physics. Therefore, the fantastic worlds that he created in his books are perceived as real. This also happens because at the center of each of them is a person who has to face betrayal and deceit, overcome hatred, defeat enemies, win friends and not be afraid of responsibility for the future of humanity and its destiny. The second volume of the two-volume edition includes stories and stories by the author.
