France, early 19th century. American Ethan Gage, who came to Paris on business, wins an ancient medallion at the card table, allegedly made in Egypt and once belonging to Queen Cleopatra. This golden disk, covered with strange symbols, undoubtedly holds some secrets. But Gage does not have time to find out: that same night he is falsely accused of murder and is forced to flee France. He manages to join a group of scientists going with Napoleon on an Egyptian expedition. Arriving in this exotic country, Gage begins to suspect that the medallion will help solve one of the greatest mysteries in the world - the mystery of the Great Pyramid.
