It all started on October 7, 1959 with the Soviet satellite Luna 3, which was the first to fly over the dark side of the Moon. A detailed study of the images revealed a large foreign body, also of artificial origin. Professor Lipsky's assumption that this was an aircraft could only be confirmed twelve years later; a group of Soviet cosmonauts, together with American scientists, descended to the object in August 1971. In 1983, Ostapenko, Belova and Müller used a planetary radio telescope to send a message in the direction of 27 stars. The message to the constellation Cygnus should arrive by 2053 plus seventy years on the return journey, but the answer came a hundred years earlier and was stunning.
