Walter Miller Jr. (1922–1996) wrote three dozen novellas and short stories—and just ONE novel. However, it was this novel—THE PASSION OF LEIBOWITZ—that forever brought his name into the “golden fund” of world science fiction. This novel, “The Passion of Leibowitz,” awarded the Hugo Award for 1960, went down in the history of science fiction of the 20th century. as a book not just great, but an ICONIC one, ranking alongside Frank Herbert's Dune, Ursula Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness, and Robert Heinlein's Strangers in a Strange Land, and became Miller's first and only major work managed to complete it during his lifetime. The sequel to The Leibowitz Passion, Saint Leibowitz and the Wild Horse, which was interrupted by the death of the author, was completed by Terry Wisson. Much has been written about the rebirth of humanity after nuclear war. Why is The Passion According to Leibovitz the book recognized as the best of all? Read it and find out for yourself!
