The stories of Gennady Gor, Leonid Rakhmanov, Mikhail Slonimsky were written in the late twenties and early thirties of the last century. In them, elegant fantasy coexists with the precisely depicted reality of the Soviet era, which gained strength. It is significant that all three writers in the later years of their lives became mentors of the young “Leningrad school” of prose writers. Two of them - Andrei Bitov and Valery Popov - accompanied the book with subtle essays about their teachers.
