The book “A Soldier's Story” is the memoir of one of the prominent American military figures, Omar Bradley, nicknamed the Soldier's General (1893-1981). The author describes the military operations of American troops in Tunisia, Sicily and Western Europe in the period from the end of February 1943 to mid-May 1945, shows the training of the officer corps of the American army, the organization of management and methods of work of headquarters, provides interesting facts and characterizes the American and English generals. After Bradley's death, there were no five-star generals left in the American army and there never were again.
