On a sunny March day, the Neeva bear cub gets out of its den and for the first time sees the world in which he will live. The beauty, scents and strange creatures of this world stun him. Under the supervision of Nuzak's caring mother, the bear cub rushes into the whirlpool of a new and such a wonderful life. But one day Nuzak smells the most dangerous creature on earth, a meeting with which will be fatal for her and Neeva. American writer and conservationist James Oliver Curwood was born in 1878 and lived only 49 years: while fishing, he was bitten by a spider, which led to blood poisoning. During his short life, Curwood wrote more than 30 novels and left behind a long and kind memory: in the state of Michigan there is a mountain named after him and a museum where a festival is held in honor of the writer. For the first time, the novel is published with drawings by the artist, graphic artist and illustrator Karina Solovyova.
