1920s, England. A famous London writer and his American wife, going on vacation, by chance find themselves in a typically English outback. Their appearance coincides with a mysterious and sinister incident. A small cozy town is shaken by the death under very vague circumstances of the eldest daughter of the richest and most influential man in the county, the owner of the Lanark Gray Hall estate.
