The proposed work is an introduction of an isagogical-exegetical nature to a more detailed and complete study of the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament. It is built on a chronological principle - as a history of the gradual written recording of Divine revelation, which were the most ancient traditions perceived by the forefathers of ancient Israel and the Old Testament prophets. The history of the Old Testament text is considered in inextricable connection with the history of the Old Testament people of God, starting with the Exodus of Israel from Egypt. Key Old Testament themes of a biblical and theological nature are also touched upon, cross-cutting for the Old and New Testaments, and leading to Christ as its goal and fulfillment.
