Russian writer Fyodor Nikolaevich Glinka left behind a very large and diverse legacy. The central place in it is occupied by works dedicated to the Patriotic War of 1812: memoirs and diary prose, articles on private issues and poems. Well known to specialists, they have never been collected together, although such a reading of them allows us to see a lot of new and instructive things in them. F. N. Glinka was (at the same time as N. I. Grech) the first Russian writer to coin the term Patriotic War, which significantly increases its significance in the history of Russian culture. The publication was prepared for the 235th anniversary of the writer’s birth. p>
