On the banks of the fish-stone river, in a house made of volcanic tuff, lives a man who values his solitude very much, but is forced to break it in order to complete an important task – go to the city and eliminate the distorted vision of the world. On his journey, he is joined by assistants: Darius from the “strange” social minority, Iboga - a model of a person, white pedants, a metaphorist and other residents of a causomeric settlement, where people who do not want to degrade take refuge from information noise. Gun tries to go to the limit to find a paper lamp there and gain insight, but the journey through human souls turns out to be too difficult for him. The final battle with the mauk reveals this enormous abandonment of people in the midst of a war in which there is no hero...
