We bring to your attention the first part of the reference-encyclopedia “Aircraft Carriers of the World”. It includes descriptions of all ships of this class that entered service before the start of World War II. Let us especially emphasize: we are talking only about aircraft carriers suitable for both takeoff and landing of aircraft on deck. Numerous “semi-aircraft carriers”, seaplane carriers and seaplane transports, capable only of launching aircraft, are not included in the reference book. Perhaps in the future we will prepare an additional issue dedicated to ships that carry seaplanes and helicopters. Probably, many of you noticed the previously unseen “Naval Collection” logo. Yes, this is the debut of a new periodical. It will be published in parallel with the Marine Collection magazine, but for now it will be distributed only at retail. As part of the “Naval Collection”, not only thematic issues will appear, but also collections. You can briefly learn about the contents of the first of them from the information on page 32. We hope that the topics and content of publications in our almanac will meet the most demanding needs of lovers of naval history and shipbuilding.
