The book by Moscow writer Dmitry Aleksandrovich Urushev is dedicated to the Old Believers. The history of this original Russian spiritual movement from the tragic Schism of the mid-17th century to the present day appears in portraits of its outstanding figures (Archpriest Avvakum, noblewoman Morozova, etc.), in stories about memorable events. The book is written on rich factual material, which does not deprive it of ease of style and simplicity of presentation.
