The new series “Orthodox Holidays for Children” opens with a book about the Holy Resurrection of Christ - a collection of poems and prose works by Russian writers of the 19th–21st centuries. The book consists of four parts: the first part is devoted to bright images of spring nature; the second - during Lent; the third, central, for Easter; the fourth contains spring legends and fairy tales. Acquaintance with the best examples of artistic expression will help not only to better understand the meaning of church holidays, but also to lay in children the foundations of Christian virtues: faith, hope and love, mercy and courage, responsiveness and honesty. The publication is intended for children primary and secondary school age, however, some works will be of interest to both the youngest readers and the oldest. Recommended for family reading, Sunday schools and Orthodox gymnasiums, state and municipal schools. The book can be used as a reader within the framework of the course “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture.”
