The plot from the history of Asia of the 12th century is based on information about the heroic deeds of the young Jewish king-false Messiah David Alroy, who set out to return to his people the glory lost since biblical times and to recreate the Jewish state with its capital in Jerusalem. Alroy gathered an army of like-minded people under his banner, conquered cities and countries, but very soon suffered a crushing defeat and tragically ended his journey.
