The monograph is devoted to the study of the problem of the ethnic prehistory of the population of the steppe and forest-steppe of Eastern Europe and the Middle Don of the Scythian time in the context of the “original Hellenes” mentioned by Herodotus of the city of Gelon in the country of the Budins on the north-eastern periphery of Scythia, who were contemporaries of the “father of history”. The argumentation of the hypothesis about the territory of the Middle Don, the steppe and forest-steppe of Eastern Europe as the original ancestral home and the axis of divergence at the turn of the 3rd-2nd millennium BC is presented. their distant predecessors - carriers of the cultures of the great steppe communities of the Bronze Age, who personified a conglomerate of related tribes of the Hellenic-Thraco-Phrygian and Indo-Iranian linguistic communities.
