In 1925, British Colonel Percy Fawcett went into the Amazon jungle to find the Inca capital, the legendary El Dorado, which he preferred to call “Z City”. The expedition disappeared - and the search for its traces became an obsession for many people. And for some of them it cost their lives. In 2005, New York journalist David Grann became interested in the fate of the brave colonel and, unexpectedly for himself, also went to Brazil. His book is not just a fascinating historical investigation, but also a lively, exciting story about a majestic and still little-studied region. In 2009, the book was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Award for best non-fiction, and in the fall of 2016, a film based on this book was shown at a festival. The role of Colonel Fawcett was played by Charlie Hunnam (“Hooligans”, “Pacific Rim”), the other roles included Robert Pattinson (“Twilight”, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”), Tom Holland (“The Impossible”, “In the Heart of the Sea”) and other actors. The world premiere of the film will take place in the spring of 2017.
